Tuesday 22nd August – bike *** Landguard for breakfast – sunny periods.

Being a Tuesday the day we usually visit an old friend in the afternoon we decide to get up and take our breakfast down to the old pier by the River Orwell in Landguard Nature Reserve. We were down on the Felixstowe prom at 9 and thankfully much quieter at this time in the morning:) We enjoyed our Weetabix and fruit, no drink as Mag brought the cups but forget the flask of hot water, while watching the boat action on the river, the Stenna went out, a small survey boat came in and there were several yachts, we were glad of a lightweight coat as there was a breeze blowing off the water! Then back across the nature reserve, along the prom to near the pier and a quick detour to Lidl. Back on the prom and whizzing up Bent Hill, just love the electric front wheel! Home to sort out my pics before doing my exercises in the garden, hot when the sun came out from behind the clouds! Snack for lunch before Mag goes to the physiographist for an assessment about her broken arm.

Walk **** - around Felixstowe with Mary – sunny and warm.

We then walk around to Mary’s who is waiting for us in her wheelchair, ready for the off, we agree to meet her daughter Emma at the kiosk near The Fludyers for a cuppa. We walk up to Factory shop and had a great time buying nick knacks for Christmas before heading down to the seafront and walking to the busy kiosk for a cappuccino and a massive piece of carrot cake. Emma arrives and her dog has a treat, a tube of frozen doggie yogurt, she loved it:) We really enjoyed our afternoon watching people having fun in the lovely summer weather, loads in the sea too, for the third afternoon running the breeze did pick up enough to foil with a big sail but I didn’t mind missing it as the tide was high and parking would have been a nightmare! Thats over 3 miles pushing Mary’s wheelchair but it was worth every minute as we had a great time:)
